Xibalbá was a mural presented in the "Galería Internacional", whose installation was developed through a symbolic and formal interpretation of pre-Hispanic references. The geometry of the base and display panels drew from Mesoamerican motifs, creating a rhythmic structural language in dialogue with the iconography of the artwork.
Lighting played a key role in shaping the atmosphere: blue illumination against a black wall created a gradual wash of light evoking the depths of the sea, while intensifying the contrast with the mural’s orange tones. This treatment reinforced the work’s visual presence, giving it a floating, ethereal quality and establishing a balance between symbolic density and perceptual lightness.
